Equipment Types

Each piece of equipment must belong to exactly one type of equipment, its superordnate category. The type of equipment is displayed in a list on the tab "Equipment" and can be ordered when creating a booking. The precondition for the equipment type appearing in the list, is that there is at least one piece of equipment that is not permanently located in a room!

In order to change existing equipment types, click on "Search" and a list of all created equipment types will be displayed (providing you type the "%" sign in the data entry field "Equipment Type Name"). A click on the respective row opens the equipment type's detailed view. There you changes can be made, which need to be saved by clicking on "Save".

To create a new equipment type, click on "New Equipment Type" and complete the entry fields: Name (required), Description (not necessary), Setup-Times and Display Order. By completing the display order you can determine the order in which the equipment types will be shown in the drop-down-list on the tab "Equipment". The set-up times before and after a booking can be entered in intervals of 15 minutes.
Note: Entries regarding the set-up times will be automatically round down to 15 minutes by the program. Durations less than 15 minutes will be rounded up to 15 miinutes, which is the minimal set-up-time. No warning will be announced! Thus, it is recommended to choose a minimal set-up time of 30 minutes because this corresponds with the minimal duration that can be displayed by the booking calendar.
Preliminary set-up times cause the start time of the booking to move to the past whereas subsequent set-up times result in moving the end time of a booking to the future.

You need to assign an activity type to each equipment type. The activity type defines the costs of each equipment belonging to the equipment type. Here, you can only choose between the activity types "Equipment without availability check". "Equipment with availibility check" and "Permanent room equipment".

To save your entries click on "Save".
